By making a wordpress post a Sticky, it “sticks” it to the front page. Even if you make a new post, it’ll will show up as the very first post on your blog. This feature is useful for announcements, etc.
Making a Sticky, and making an Un-Sticky
1. Navigate to the Edit page of a post, and look for the “Publish” part where you Update Post, etc.
2. Find where it says “Visibility: Public”, and press the “Edit” button next to it.
3. Now, find the checkbox next to “Stick this post to the front page”. Check the box to sticky it, and simply uncheck it to un-sticky it.
You have learned how to make a sticky post!
Thank You.

Hi WP Advanced. That’s a great tip. I was thinking of using a sticky post but I couldn’t remember how to do it. You just saved me a trip to the Support forum. I have some wordpress.com tips on my blog too that you might want to check out.
Thanks – Ileane
I’d love to check out your blog. Where is it? How do I navigate to it? Thanks.
thank you
finally a very clear and easy to understand explanation
fred
yes, thanks for the helpful info!
Thanks for this great tip. I knew it was somewhere…just could not find it. I actually found it on a forum post provided Ileane.

thank you. finally I can sticky my post 🙂
I’m not getting the option under public. What did I do wrong? Thanks!
Did you make sure to hit “Edit”?
I’m also not getting the “sticky box” under the “visibility” menu after selecting the “edit” button next to it????
At all I do not know, as to tell
I unchecked “sticky” on an older post, but it still is displayed as the top post on my blog. I also checked the box to have my most recent posts appear on the home page.
But, the same old post continues to be displayed as the top post. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Thank you!
I like when people can give very detailed descriptions so we actially learn how to do things ourselves.
Thanks!
